EVERY CHILD PLAYS PROJECT âą
Greatness is Not Achieved on the Sidelines
Children must play is our motto not ride the bench. Participation builds character and confidence. Our Staff and Coaches take much care to ensure that every child gets an opportunity to play in the game. We believe that if a Coach can teach it, a child can learn it.

So Much Fun
Below is a list of evening sports activities that we offer and a brief summary of each one.Â
Flag and Tackle Football
YAUâs Flag and Tackle Football programs offer year-round action, with most practices held in the evenings starting at 6PM. Whether your child is learning the basics through flag or stepping into competitive tackle play, our program builds strong fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence. We focus on skill development, safety, and game knowledge in a fun, structured environment that supports athletes of all levels.
Basketball Team and Training
YAU offers both basketball training camps and team play to give every athlete a complete experience. Our training camps focus on individual skill developmentâshooting, dribbling, defense, and footworkâthrough structured drills and expert coaching. In contrast, our team sessions emphasize game strategy, teamwork, and real-time decision-making. Both run during evening hours, and together they ensure your child grows as a well-rounded, confident playerâon and off the court.
Soccer
YAUâs Soccer program blends skill-building with competitive fun through both training sessions and team play. Our soccer training focuses on core development like footwork, passing, shooting, and positioning, while our teams dive into strategy, teamwork, and real game scenarios. Practices are typically held in the evenings, making it easy for families to participate. Whether your child is just starting out or ready to compete, YAU Soccer helps players grow with confidence and excitement every step of the way.
Track & Field
YAUâs Track and Field program gives young athletes the chance to build speed, strength, and endurance across a variety of events. From sprints and distance running to long jump and relays, our evening practices focus on technique, conditioning, and personal growth. Whether your child is new to the sport or aiming to compete at a higher level, our supportive coaches help them set goals, improve performance, and have fun along the way. Track and Field at YAU is all about discovering potential and running with it.
Baseball
YAUâs Baseball program is all about building strong fundamentals while keeping the game fun and exciting for young athletes. Through structured evening practices, players learn essential skills like hitting, fielding, throwing, and base running â all in a team-focused environment. Whether your child is picking up a glove for the first time or looking to sharpen their technique, our coaches emphasize development, sportsmanship, and confidence-building every step of the way.
Golf
YAUâs Golf program introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of the game in a relaxed, supportive setting. We focus on grip, stance, swing technique, and course etiquetteâhelping kids build confidence, patience, and focus on and off the green. Whether your child is new to golf or looking to refine their skills, our evening sessions provide a fun, low-pressure way to learn the game while developing discipline, coordination, and a lifelong appreciation for the sport.
Cheer
YAU offers both Competitive Cheer and Recreational Cheer teams to give every athlete a place to shine. Our Recreational Cheer program focuses on building confidence, spirit, and basic cheer techniques in a fun, high-energy environmentâperfect for beginners or those who just want to cheer, dance, and have fun. For those ready to take it to the next level, our Competition Cheer teams train year-round, focusing on stunts, choreography, tumbling, and synchronized routines. These athletes perform at regional events and showcase their skills with pride. Whether your child wants to cheer on the sidelines or compete under the lights, YAU has a spot for them to thrive.
Sports
Requirements
Each sport has a different set of requirements. For majority of our sports, we supply all equipment with the exception of miscellaneous items for practices. Â For example, for tackle football, we supply the helmet and shoulder pads. Â However, parents must purchase mouth pieces, chin straps and practice pants outside of us. Â All requirements per sport will be provided to parents upon registration.Â
